Better Skin, Better YouPosted on
Many women overlook the value of a facial. It’s a service that delivers long term value, and one that you should do regularly. There are many different types of facials that we offer, each one offers a unique value. Facials can cleanse, tone hydrate, and exfoliate your skin. They have an anti-aging effect, can shrink the size of your pores and repair damage from the environment. There are some additional things you can do to maximize the effects of your regularly scheduled facials.
Kick Sugar to the Curb
Simple carbohydrates, such as white bread, soda, and refined sugar, cause inflammation in your body. The inflammation causes collagen and elastin to break down from enzymes produced. This results in wrinkles and sagging skin. Not all food with sugars or all carbohydrates are bad for you. Complex carbohydrates such as brown rice and vegetables are good. Berries also are great antioxidants and help give you glowing skin.
Drink More Water & Less Booze
You probably already known this, but drinking plenty of water allows you to stay hydrated as well as your skin. You’ll not only want to increase your water intake, but also skip things that dehydrate you such as alcohol and caffeine. If you’re a coffeeholic and just can’t skip the beans, you can add an additional glass of water per two cups of coffee you drink.
Get Plenty of Sleep
If you’re sleep-deprived, your body is producing a stress hormone called cortisol. This hormone causes inflammation in your body, and like you read above, the inflammation affects your skin. Your skin will lose its natural glow and bounce.
