Why You Should Choose Waxing Over ShavingPosted on
Summer is just around the corner which means it’s time for beach trips, no sleeves, shorts, and sundresses. Now is the time to make sure any unwanted hair is gone. You could shave as needed but that could mean shaving every 1-3 days to keep your skin smooth and hairless. That might not be a problem for some, but others just don’t have the time. Luckily shaving isn’t the only way to remove hair. Waxing is a non-permanent hair removal solution that could be the option for you.
Waxing is not only for hair removal but also for skin exfoliation. Dead skin and trapped dirt are removed at the same time as the hair. It’s another reason why waxed skin feels so much softer and smoother than shaved skin.
The neat thing about waxing is that eventually, it affects the regrowth of hair. Since waxing pulls the hair from the root, it grows finer and slower resulting in having to wax less often. Shaving does not do that since the hair is only cut at the surface meaning it will just grow as usual.
With shaving, it’s super easy to accidentally cut your skin. From small nick to long cuts those wounds will scab over and become irritable as well as noticeable. While waxing can leave the skin irritated and red, it will fade within 24 hours and leave you with soft, smooth skin.
Here’s some advice for first-time waxers. Your hair should be about ¼ inch when you go in. It’s recommended that you lightly exfoliate the night before to get rid of excess oil and dead skin. It would be a good idea to wear loose clothing on the target areas since after waxing your skin will be irritated and you don’t want to make it worse.
